Before
Orders came in from two webshops and the trade counter, and the floor worked from printed lists. Stock was corrected by hand at the end of the day, and a wrong item was usually found when the customer rang.
Busy days meant more people on the floor, and more people meant more mistakes. Nobody could say who had picked which order.
What changed
Picking moved to the scanner first: one list per walk, every bin and product checked by a scan. Packing followed, with DPD labels printed at the bench. The webshops were connected while switched off, tried on test orders, then turned on.
The scanner says no before the customer does.
Today
Orders from both shops and the trade counter land in one list. Pickers walk one route, packers scan every item into the box, and stock goes back to the webshops on its own. The office follows the day hour by hour instead of chasing paper.
